Item Description
A Bronica ETR Plain Prism Finder (often designated simply as Prism Finder E) is an unmetered, eye-level viewfinder designed for the Zenza Bronica ETR 6×4.5 medium format system, including the ETR, ETRS, and ETRSi camera bodies.
Key Features
- Image Correction: It corrects the lateral reversal inherent in waist-level finders. The image appears right-side-up and correctly oriented from left to right, matching the perspective of a standard 35mm SLR.
- No Built-in Light Meter: Unlike the AE-II or AE-III metered prisms, the plain prism contains no electronics or exposure indicators. It relies entirely on the camera body’s manual settings and require a separate hand-held light meter.
- Ergonomics: It makes vertical (portrait orientation) shooting drastically easier. Waist-level finders display an inverted image when flipped sideways, making portrait composition highly unintuitive.
- Weight & Form Factor: Because it lacks metering circuitry and dials, the plain prism is significantly lighter and sleeker than its AE counterparts, preserving the modular, compact appeal of the 645 system.
