The ALTA SKY 42 is the smallest backpack in the Alta Sky Series, designed to carry a camera with easy access for up to a 600mm lens (and some 800mm lenses) attached, and an additional 4 lenses. This includes lenses like the Sony Sony FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS, the Canon RF 200-800mm F6.3-9 IS USM, the Nikon NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR and the Sigma Sports 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS, all with hoods attached.

All protected in the sturdy, well padded material and with the comfortable harness system that the Alta Sky series is renowned for.

It also comes with a removable sleeve that is designed to be used to offer additional protection to a long lens, or to carry a spotting scope securely.

Full access to your kit is through the rear of the backpack, with quick top access to your chosen camera/lens combo.

The secure rear compartment includes a pouch that can carry up to a 12.9″ tablet (compartment is 240 x 25 x 380mm), while on the front is a pocket for accessories such as cables and SD cards, with expandable neoprene pockets on either side for water bottles and another items.

The interior is a light, bright orange that allows you to clearly see the contents of the bag, even in low light conditions. Or in the event of an emergency on your trek, can help you attract attention by making you more visible.

The Alta Sky 42 can also carry a tripod in the centre for optimal balance, with a tuck away tripod foot if needed.
