The FM2N is a great reliable 35mm manual focus camera. It is regarded as one of the best-built and rugged mechanical 35 mm cameras of all time. A favourite with many photographers because of its ruggedness and because it is capable of full mechanical operation with all features except the light meter, even without a battery. Compatible with Nikon F-mount lenses

- Fully Mechanical Shutter: Features a vertical-travel metal shutter with speeds from 1s to 1/4000s plus Bulb.
- Flash Sync: The “n” version improved the flash sync speed to 1/250s (up from 1/200s on the original FM2).
- Lens Mount: Uses the classic Nikon F-mount, compatible with AI and AI-S manual focus lenses, as well as many newer AF and AF-D lenses (though G-series lenses are unusable due to the lack of an aperture ring).
- Metering: Features a 60/40 center-weighted TTL meter with a simple “+/o/-” LED display in the viewfinder.
