The Nikon Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AI (introduced in 1978) is a sharp, robust manual-focus standard lens. Often called the “Longnose”, it replaced the older 50mm f/2 and features a deeply recessed front element that provides excellent built-in flare resistance without needing a dedicated lens hood.
